Joe Stowell serves as Teaching Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. His first love is Jesus Christ and preaching His Word. An internationally recognized conference speaker, Joe has written numerous books including The Trouble with Jesus, Following Christ, Simply Jesus and You, and Radical Reliance.
Joe also works with RBC Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan, partnering in media productions. His web-based ministry, Strength for the Journey features daily devotionals in audio, text and podcast formats, weekly messages and commentary, downloadable Bible study curriculum for individuals and small groups, and an audio library of his most requested messages.
Joe serves on the Board of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He is a graduate of Cedarville University and Dallas Theological Seminary and was honored with a doctor of divinity degree from The Master's College in 1987. He served as the seventh president of The Moody Bible Institute from 1987-2005.
Joe and his wife Martie are the parents of three adult children and ten grandchildren. They make their home in suburban Chicago.
